The Shared Society Center runs joint activities for some 200 Jewish and Arab youth every year. This led to the establishment of the Akko Shared Society center in 2015. She also established and led the first ever group of Arab youth to attend the national NOAL youth movement leadership training course from Akko. For four years, she worked as a counselor at a special youth center that offers a “second home” for at-risk adolescents, and later spent two years as the center’s manager. Over the eight years that she has lived in Akko since completing her military service, Mirit has spearheaded and participated in a range of educational projects in the city.
